A dermatologist is a medical doctor (MD, DO) who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions that affect the skin, hair, and nails. Some dermatologists pursue additional medical training in a dermatology subspecialty, such as cosmetic dermatology, dermatopathology, Mohs surgery, and pediatric dermatology. A Dermatology Physician Assistant focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of skin conditions.
