Education & Training

Dr. Shadi Damanpour received her B.S. with Distinction from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. After doing research at Rockefeller University in New York City, she attended the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She was selected to a competitive medical student fellowship doing specialized skin cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. During medical school, she was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.

Dr. Damanpour completed her internship in Internal Medicine at Jackson Memorial Hospital / University of Miami, and continued her residency training in Dermatology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. She served as the Academic Chief Resident in her final year of residency. She has numerous peer-reviewed publications in scholarly journals, including the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology and Science.

Prior to joining NDDA, Dr. Damanpour was an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at Northwestern University in Chicago, where she specialized in melanoma and pigmented lesions. Her professional interests include the early detection and treatment of skin cancer; treatment of inflammatory skin conditions such as acne, psoriasis, and eczema; and cosmetic skin rejuvenation.

Dr. Damanpour is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, Women’s Dermatologic Society, American Medical Association, and Texas Medical Association. She has served on the Editorial Committee for the WDS since 2019.
