Contact Dermatitis 101

Contact dermatitis is a rash that occurs when your skin comes into contact with a substance that triggers your immune system to mistakenly think that it is under attack.

This reaction can happen at any time, even if you’ve come into contact with that same substance for years.

A variety of substances can trigger contact dermatitis.

Once you develop contact dermatitis in reaction to a substance, you will likely have the same reaction for the rest of your life.
Contact dermatitis results from your body reacting to a substance that came into contact with your skin
