Education & Training
Dr. Matheis earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Creighton University in 1988, and subsequently delved into her passion for skin disease and skin surgery at the prestigious North Carolina Jaycee Burn Center in Chapel Hill. Her research endeavors took her to the Shriners Burns Institute in Texas.
Later, at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, she pursued medical school and conducted research on the genetics of skin cancer and the immunology of the skin. She concluded her training at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, completing her internship in medicine and residency in Dermatology in 2006.
Personal
Dr. Matheis hails from Omaha, Nebraska. She is a proud parent of two wonderful children. In her leisure time, she enjoys cycling, baking, and engaging in church activities.
